Community Midwives

Clinics are held in The Wave Children’s Centre, Dominion Road, Worthing; appointments can be made direct by phoning 01903 276869.

Please note clinic visits are by appointment only. Midwives also attend patients at home after delivery.

 

Community Nurses

Calls to the team can be made through a Co-Ordinator between 08:30 and 16:30 Monday - Friday. Messages left outside these working hours will not be picked up until the next working day.

If patients need assistance from a community nurse outside of these hours or weekends and bank holidays, please call the Community Health Access Point 08450920414, weekends and bank holidays and overnight.

For non-urgent medical advice contact NHS 111.

The community nursing team deliver evidence based nursing care to patients who are unable to attend the surgery. The team work closely with GPs, external agencies and carers to ensure that the nursing care delivered is holistic and of a high quality. The community team aim to work in partnership with patients, families and carers to promote and facilitate optimal independence and disease management for individuals in their own home.

The health visitors can be contacted by telephoning direct on 01273 696011 ext 6160, or by ringing the surgery on 01903 826926 who will pass on a message for you.

The health visitors also offer antenatal visits and new born baby visit at home.

Developmental checks are held at regular intervals for babies aged 6 weeks, 10 months, and 28 months.

The health visitor is also available for help and advice with the under 5s.
